Fed Defeats Davydenko to Win Qatar Title

World 2-ranked Roger Federer won the Qatar ExxonMobil Open title hammering former champ Nikolay Davydenko 63, 64 in the final of the MEN'S ATP
stop in Doha.

The Swiss player captured the crown for the third time, post successive trophies in '05 and '06, making Fed the first three-time winner in event. The triumph designated 67 Tour trophies for the Swiss Maestro, who picked up 250 ATP Ranking points as well as $177, 000 in prize winnings.

The basel native made a fast start to the contest, leaping to a 3-0 cushion prior to ending out the first set on serve. Davy was pressured to manufacture close to his best tennis to stay in the game with Fed in the second set, but his resistance collasped in the 9th game as Federer broke to love before wrapping up the trophy in 79 minutes. Roger is now 23-3 at the tourney.
